Mojo Jones & Pristine Blusters

Right so today has been a day for discovering music, seeing what I have missed is always fun. Everyone will know the excitement when you've been away for a while and finding out what you have missed out on; new singles from Lady Gaga and Dizzee Rascal and the fact that it's still raining in London! I've done a lot of trawling on blogs, myspace & beatport but for the moment my favourite tracks were right here in my inbox!

I've been sent two FUNKY FRESH tracks from Mojo Jones, producer/DJ from Washington DC. He's been promoting his latest release (find it here on beatport) called 'Laughing Gas' on Tharsis Records, featuring remixes from DJ Kue (big dog he is) and The Octopus (very heavy) amongst others. Please check out all the remixes as they all bring something very different to the table which creates an overall feel that MUDLOVE likes oh so much, that of diversity. You could play each track throughout a night no problem, it would probs be a pretty sick night... so buy it!

The first track we have for you guys to download is the original mix. Now have a listen to it for yourselves but I've got to say that the production skills on this track are spot on, each different sound is isolated so nicely that it allows a lot to be going on at once without the song sounding crammed. The atmostpheric vocals are ghostly and haunting, the synth so crisp and in your face and with the industrial rhythm and computer glitches adding spice, this is a bad-ass track. And yes, it does capture the feeling of NO3 molecules bouncing around a balloon!

Mojo Jones - Laughing Gas

He also sent me a bootleg track of his with Zombie Disco Squad which is awesome...

Mojo Jones vs Zombie Disco Squad - Acid Horns

If you like this then have a read about Detroit Techno. 'Laughing Gas' I personally think is heavily influenced by this genre which is often underappreciated as the originator of the techno music we listen to today. Have a read here, really interesting.

I have also been sent over some tracks all the way from Brazil by Pristine Blusters, a DJ/production group consisting of Carlos Nuñez from Sao Paulo and Victor Arlé and Alexandre Favilla from Rio de Janeiro. They sent over a few remixes they did of which I have put up my favorite two. I do like these guys and their remixes are obviously creative and well produced, I would definitely suggest you check out their myspace. However a small part of me was slightly saddened that these tracks somewhat lacked that Brazilian flavour that we all admire. Perhaps I'm being narrow-minded about the music scene in Brazil but these tracks seem a little European/US, I think a samba-house remix of Justice - Let there be light would be much more interesting than another glitchy/rock/electro remix!

BUT they deserve much credit as they are great tracks and I fully plan on playing them at mudlove's next night, so check these out...

MC Gi - Quer Romance (Pristine Blusters 'Dirty Bitch' Remix)

Munk - Live Fast Die Old! (Pristine Blusters 'Never Dies' Remix)

Right everyone I hope you like. Check back here tomorrow because we have some very special stuff to share!

Oh and in the mean time if you have a second, check out mudlove.co.uk, still in it's infancy I know, but it's just a bit easier to remember and even easier to tell your mates about!
